Cookie Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. “Local storage” is a similar store in your browser. This page lists every cookie and storage item the Green Horizons website (greenhorizons.org) uses, what it is for and how long it lasts. How we use personal information in general is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Cookies we set ourselves
| Name | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|
jobpost_closed | Remembers that you closed the “Green Horizons is Hiring!” notice, so it stays hidden. Only set if you click “Close this message”. | 30 days |
PHPSESSID | A temporary session identifier set when you send the contact form. It is needed for the form to work and holds no personal details. | Until you close your browser |
Google Ads cookies and storage
Every page loads the Google Ads tag, which measures whether people who click our adverts go on to contact us. It sets or reads the following.
| Name | Where it is stored | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au | greenhorizons.org (cookie) | Links visits to our site with Google Ads so enquiries can be counted. | 90 days |
_gcl_aw | greenhorizons.org (cookie) | Stores the ad-click ID when you arrive from one of our Google adverts. | 90 days |
_gcl_ls | greenhorizons.org (local storage) | Google Ads copy of the click and visit information above. | Stays until you clear your browser’s site data |
GCL_AW_P | google.com, googleadservices.com, doubleclick.net (cookies) | Google’s record of an ad click, used to count conversions. Set when you arrive from one of our adverts. | 90 days |
IDE | doubleclick.net (cookie) | Google’s advertising cookie, used to measure and show adverts. | About 13 months |
Google may also read cookies it has already set in your browser on its own domains, for example if you are signed in to a Google account. Google controls those cookies; see how Google uses cookies.
The site does not currently show a consent banner, and the Google Ads tag runs as soon as a page opens.
Other services
Our pages load the jQuery code library from cdnjs (run by Cloudflare). Loading it does not set any cookie on our site. Our fonts are served from our own server.
How to control cookies
- You can block or delete cookies, including third-party cookies, in your browser settings. The website still works without them.
- Content blockers and your browser’s tracking protection can stop the Google Ads tag loading.
- You can manage Google’s advertising settings at My Ad Center.
